Nestled in the corner of Urbana, Illinois lays one of the most authentic golf experiences still available to enjoy today. Our course’s history began in 1922, with the Club’s founding. It was then when architect, Tom Bendelow, the man responsible for over 600 courses, including some of the finest courses in the United States, broke ground on a secluded slip of acreage enclosed by Urbana’s forests.

Since then, the Urbana Country Club has remained true to its original course design concept almost 100 years later. Created in the same era Bendelow designed Medinah #3, Beverly C.C. and East Lake in Atlanta, the UCC course demonstrates many of the architectural concepts popular at that time: small, undulating greens, subtle fairway movement and well-placed bunkering. Marry that with modern-day conditioning and you and your whole family have a fun, thoughtful and challenging contest, one that lends itself to a beautiful walk or a quick ride. At UCC, it is tradition that play commence without delay, as a round almost always takes less than four hours. While tee times are appreciated, they are not required as member access is top priority.

“It is my duty and privilege to maintain the standards and honor the history of this great golf experience. Whether you are taking a lesson, playing a round, shopping in our well-appointed Golf Shop or just practicing, my goal is to ensure your every golf need is met. My team and I make the beginner feel comfortable, while also satisfying the most discerning golf connoisseur. It is an honor to be in a position to share with you this wonderful game and all it teaches.”
